Bi Nguyen isn’t looking to prove anything to anyone, other than getting her hand raised.

At “ONE Championship: Battleground III,” which airs Friday via tape delay, Nguyen (6-6) takes on Jenelyn Olsim (4-2) in a strawweight bout as she looks to make it back-to-back wins in 2021.

Nguyen is coming off a split-decision win over Ritu Phogat at “ONE Championship: Dangal” in May, a matchup that “insulted” her when it was booked.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time,” Nguyen stated during a virtual media day session. “I have a ‘good ego,’ I don’t have a ‘bad ego,’ which means I’m not in here to prove anything to anyone. … There’s things in my career I need to do. I need to claim more wins.”

Ultimately, Nguyen is focused on putting herself in a position to reach the top of her division to fight for the title when the atomweight grand prix is completed, and the next step in that quest is winning against Olsim.

Listen to Nguyen speak about what she learned from the fight with Phogat, her expectations for the bout against Olsim, and more in the video above.
