Fresh off his big knockout at UFC Fight Night 193, Douglas Silva de Andrade already has his next fight booked.
De Andrade (27-4 MMA, 5-4 UFC) meets Sergey Morozov (17-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) on Feb. 12 at UFC 271. The location and venue has yet to be announced.
A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Combate was first to report the news.
Brazil’s de Andrade has alternated wins and losses in his past seven fights. In his return to 135 pounds, the 36-year-old scored a first-round “Performance of the Night” knockout of Gaetano Pirrello earlier this month. Following his win, de Andrade asked for a quick turnaround and he will get his wish when he takes on Kazakhstan’s Morozov.
Winner of six of his past seven, Morozov has split his first two octagon appearances. After getting submitted by Umar Nurmagomedov in his promotional debut in January, the former M-1 Global bantamweight champion rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Khalid Taha at UFC on ESPN 26 in July.
Dominant Sergey Morozov happy with win, even though he couldn’t put Taha away
