If anyone didn’t believe Danny Roberts returned to action on Saturday, he can tilt his head forward to show off his fresh scar to prove otherwise.

After nearly two years away from the octagon due to COVID-19 cancellations and injuries, Roberts (18-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) returned to face Ramazan Emeev (20-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) on the prelims of UFC Fight Night 195 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

During the fight, which was a back-and-forth battle with both fighters having their moments over the course of three rounds, Roberts suffered a nasty cut on the top of his head. Since the cut was above the hairline, it was hard to tell how bad the cut actually was during the broadcast.

However, thanks to UFC president Dana White sharing close-up video of the cut on his Instagram story, we are able to see it in full detail. Check out the photos below to see the gash before and after stitching.

While the wound heals over the coming days, at least Roberts can take solace in knowing his return after a couple of years away resulted in a split decision victory over Emeev. He can also feel good knowing the doctor’s stitch work made him look good as new.

According to orthopedic sports surgeon Dr. David Abbasi, Roberts will be able to remove the stitches in under two weeks.

Danny Roberts suffered NASTY cut on scalp after an elbow!

Below hair & skin is his PERIOSTEUM, the connective tissue directly under skull.

Doc used Non-black suture, so its easier to remove in about 10 days!

Roberts has now won two fights in a row entering as an underdog. Against Zelim Imadaev at UFC Fight Night 163 and Emeev on Saturday, Roberts proved he’s not one to be overlooked.
